Then reattach the right-hand pedal arm to the right-hand crank arm. With this done, reattach the right-hand pedal ring, and snap the right-hand disk in to place. Now fully attach the left and right-hand side shields by replacing the three screws to the right-hand side shield. Next, reattach the left-hand upper body leg, to the left-hand roller arm and replace the inner and outer plastic cover for that pivot joint. Then reattach the left-hand pedal arm to the left-hand crank arm. Now reattach the left-hand pedal ring, and snap the left-hand disk in to place. Replace the right and left-hand side shields and reattach the left-hand side with its six screws. Replace the resistance cable and reset the tension. With a new resistance motor in place, screw in the four screws that hold it to the frame. Remove the four screws that mount the resistance motor to the frame of the elliptical. This will loosen the cable allowing you to pull it off of the resistance motor. To do this, press down on the part of the eddy mechanism shown here with a flat head screwdriver. Take the tension off of the resistance cable. You do not need to remove the right-hand side shield, but it is now unattached and can be removed if it is more convenient.ĭetach the wire harness from the resistance motor. Once you have removed the six screws from the left-hand side shield, you will be able to remove it and have full access to the resistance motor. Now remove all the same components from the left-hand side of the elliptical. You will not at this point be able to remove the right-hand side shield from the elliptical until you have removed the screws from the left-hand side shield. Remove the plastic side shield covering the right side of the elliptical. Remove the right-hand pedal ring, and remove the ring from the peg on the crank arm. Using a standard screwdriver with a thin tip, remove the plastic disk on the right side of the elliptical. Then pull the pedal arm from the crank arm. With the Allen wrench, remove the bolt that holds them together along with its cover plate and washer. Now you must separate the right-hand pedal arm from the right-hand crank arm. Then remove the spacers on either side of the axle, and carefully separate the arm and leg. Now using an Allen wrench, remove the bolt, nut, and washers that pull the two arms together. Next, remove the screw and washer that hold the plastic cover in place on the inside of this joint, and remove that cover. Gently press the cover seam until it pops apart. Now remove the plastic cover over the joint where the right-hand upper body leg, and the right-hand roller arm pivot together. Infinifactory worst solution8/4/2023 At the start of the game, when the devices you’re building are still relatively simple, it’s a decent enough system you’re given sufficient space to experiment and refine your code, building a program that would qualify as “good” by basic programming standards and which covers off all required use cases and - this is important - all additional edge cases that you can think of. The inputs and corresponding target outputs are helpfully displayed along the bottom of the design interface, and each device has set of test cases that are supposed to cover off most of the use cases that device would typically encounter you can’t complete the puzzle until you come up with a program that can successfully pass all test cases. Said integers are supposed to represent the input state of some real-world device that you’re supposed to be designing - a card key operated door lock, or a smart rangefinder for a firearm - and you’re supposed to take that input and generate a set of integer outputs that matches the desired behaviour of the device, such as unlocking a door (or not). Each of Shenzhen’s puzzles gives you one or more input source that spits out integers between -999 and 999, either as a constant steady signal that can be read at any time or as a more discrete series of packet values that must be individually (and explicitly) shunted between components. To begin with it works quite well - as long as you don’t mind writing programs in assembler, that is. What Shenzhen is trying to do here is create puzzles out of the conflict between writing code in pseudo-assembler, where you have to be very explicit and long-winded about operations that could easily be done in a single line in a better language, and the limited space available in each processor component, which require that you fight for every single spare line of code and refactor repeatedly until your program is as pithy as it possibly can be. And while the assembler pseudo-language has a fair degree of functionality (loops, conditionals, execute once markers) this is still not a lot of space to work with, to put it mildly. There’s a small processor that takes up to 9 lines of code and can store one variable, and a large processor that can accommodate a whopping 14 lines of code and two whole variables (although you can only do arithmetic operations on one of them). There are several different types, but what dismayed me a little bit is how little opportunity Shenzhen provided to use interesting bits and pieces like the RAM/ROM modules, instead preferring to have 95% of its puzzles require only the two core microprocessor components – these are the standard blocks with a series of inputs and outputs and a space in the middle into which you can insert lines of code. So not only are you writing your pseudocode in a fake language that requires you to be absolutely explicit about every instruction, but Shenzhen then saddles you with further restrictions via the components you use. Almost nobody programs in assembler any more since this is the 21st century and we have a whole host of nicely interpreted languages that trade off some efficiency 1 for minor quality-of-life features such as “being able to run on more than one architecture” and “not driving the people who have to write in it completely batshit loco”. And not just any code, either Shenzhen’s pseudo-language is styled after assembly programming, which is a notoriously finicky language where nothing is handed to you on a plate and you have to do absolutely everything. Shenzhen takes the SpaceChem system of connecting together individual components that each do a segment of processing to gradually build a desired output, but instead of a pair of waldos manipulating atoms and molecules Shenzhen has you writing actual, literal computer code. Previous Zachtronics games such as SpaceChem or Infinifactory might have been heavily based around programming concepts, with easy in-game analogues you could point to for things like functions and arithmetic operations, but by packaging them up as an assembly line that built molecules/fully kitted-out living rooms instead of writing lines of code they were successfully insulated from real-world programming in a way that allowed the puzzles to co-exist quite peacefully with the much broader programming elements. What’s surprising about this, though, is what a mistake it’s turned out to be. After carving out a niche in the market by making puzzle games that were secretly about programming, it was inevitable that Zachtronics would eventually cross a line and make a puzzle game that was actually about programming. Canon rf 35mm 1.88/4/2023 Making it more useful are its macro credentials and while it won’t focus close-enough for 1:1 / 100% reproduction, it will manage 1:2 / 50% at a distance of 17cm which still lets you fill the frame with smallish objects. The RF 35mm f1.8 IS Macro STM remains the smallest, lightest and cheapest lens in the RF system to date, measuring 74mm in diameter, 63mm in length and weighing 305g, and like other 35mm lenses, is an ideal general-purpose option, flexible enough for street, landscape, architectural, portrait and product photography. Announced in September 2018, it was one of the first four RF lenses that launched the system, the other three being the RF 50mm f1.2L USM, RF 24-105mm f4L IS USM and the RF 28-70mm f2L USM. The Canon RF 35mm f1.8 IS Macro STM is a mild wide-angle prime lens for Canon’s EOS R full-frame mirrorless system. Alternatively get yourself a copy of my In Camera book or treat me to a coffee! Thanks! Buy it now! Check prices of Canon RF 35mm f1.8 IS Macro STM at Amazon, B&H, Adorama, or Wex. In the absence of a thrifty-50, it’s as close to being a no-brainer in the RF system as I’ve seen to date. The 85 is also more appropriate for portrait work, but personally the 35 gets my vote for its sheer flexibility as an all-rounder and comes highly recommended. If you’re tempted mostly for the macro capabilities though, also consider the more recent RF 85mm f2 which delivers the same 1:2 reproduction but from twice as far, which may make it more practical depending on your subject. Now you can’t exactly call a $500 lens cheap, but the RF 35mm f1.8 does more than enough to justify its inclusion in every EOS R owners bag. The icing on the cake is optical stabilisation, allowing you to handhold slower shutters or film video with ease on the unstabilised EOS R bodies. Making it more useful still are macro credentials which may miss out on true 1:1 reproduction, but will deliver 1:2 or 50% magnification from 17cm which is close-enough for many of us. Like most prime lenses, it’ll out-perform many zooms at larger apertures, while the brighter f1.8 focal ratio allows you to achieve shallower depth-of-field effects and maintain lower ISOs or faster shutters in dim conditions. Like other 35mm lenses, it’s an ideal general-purpose option, flexible enough for street, landscape, architectural, product and even wider portrait photography. Summary The Canon RF 35mm f1.8 IS Macro STM is a mild wide-angle prime lens for the EOS R full-frame mirrorless system, and remains the smallest, lightest and more affordable model in the native catalogue to date. Boxee box review 20148/4/2023 This review was published back when Boxee Box hit retail stores. Designed to deliver Internet TV, movies, music, web browsing, photos and other local media to the television, this Linux based set-top device will free you from the confined of your computer and bring you back to the epitome of comfort, your couch! In this review we're going to take a look at once such device, the Boxee Box by D-Link. Only recently have we seen a flux of low-profile, inexpensive, media extension devices pop-up on the market. Up until last year, delivering local media and web content to the living room has been a do-it-yourself Home Theater PC (HTPC) project requiring a long list of PC hardware components and software tinkering. With offerings like Netflix, VUDU, Hulu and digital downloads, even once loyal cable television subscribers are abandoning their service for online content. Windows identifies the RF receiver as a normal keyboard, so everything went swimmingly. The rest of the project was simply putting everything in a project box and stuffing it behind his PC. The receiver operated at 3.3 Volts, so stepping down the voltage required regulator. traced out the connectors on the RF receiver for the BoxeeBox, and found the usual V+, V-, Power, and Ground connections found in a USB cable. It turns out this is pretty easy, requiring only a few parts and half of a USB cable. This meant figuring out a way to connect the RF receiver from a BoxeeBox to a USB port. Getting it working on his XBMC-equipped PC was a top priority. Other media center devices have filled the void in ’s life, but he loved that Boxee remote. ’s BoxeeBox loved his BoxeeBox, but it’s an old device now, with some support for web streaming (including Netflix) gone. It was impressive because the reverse side of the remote had a small qwerty keyboard, just the thing for searching menus loaded up with movies and TV shows and entering URLs. Not because it controlled the BoxeeBox, the set-top media center PC, mind you. When it was first announced in 2010, the Boxee remote was a stroke of genius. 4 lines for $100 free phones 20218/4/2023 Cricket Wireless (opens in new tab) - best for value on the AT&T network.Verizon (opens in new tab) - best for flexibility and parental control.T-Mobile (opens in new tab) - best for big carrier value.Boost Mobile (opens in new tab) - best for three line value.Mint Mobile (opens in new tab) - best for two line value.Visible (opens in new tab) - best for overall value. For more options, we also recommend checking out our main best cell phone plans article, where you'll find a great overview of the market as a whole. Bruce van overloop8/3/2023 The consistory of Hope PRC fed their flock the poison of Satan.Īnd when some objected, they killed them. Jesus Christ commands elders to feed the flock the pure gospel of grace and the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Six days later, Hope’s consistory responded by countercharging him as an antinomian and later suspending and deposing him from office. In faithfulness to his Formula of Subscription vow, he exerted himself to keep Hope PRC free from corrupting justification by faith alone. What was Elder Meyer’s sin? What aroused in Hope’s consistory such anger?Įlder Meyer objected to a minister preaching that our obedience is a way to the Father. This letter is probably one of the ugliest things I have ever read. If you don’t know what spiritual abuse looks like, read this letter from Hope PRC to Neil Meyer dated November 4, 2015. That abuse thrived at Hope Protestant Reformed Church in Walker, MI. I speak of the spiritual abuse suffered by many of God’s children at the hands of the laypeople and the leaders in the PRC. The PRC may be ignoring it, but they can be sure Jehovah God is not. 13:10).īut there is one matter about which we hear nothing. With Octatrack it could be like a free-running oscillator (and the OT the envelope and VCA), and I could also sample different states. I am thinking I will try it next with other pedals rather than it being a “by itself” thing. So there is a rare Cosmos review in the wild from a user who has no business reviewing it yet. The rhythmic firmware is also interesting to me but I don’t want to start messing with alternate firmware before I understand the main firmware. That said, I do wish it took basic MIDI because there is no way I want this on the floor. But honestly it’s nice to just have it in a pedal because otherwise I’m dealing with MIDI mapping and software updates. I could totally build a Cosmos in Bitwig or Live. I know someone who has a setup in Ableton using loopers with prime number times and LFOs sort of like what the Cosmos does. It is well built and without question stupid expensive it’s just that nothing else does this. “erase” does…I don’t know what the manual says “erases sound in the buffer” but what sound and which buffer? I wrote support. Some choices seem odd like you can get the granular happening in interesting ways but I haven’t figured out how to non-randomly scrub position.Īlso, and I kid you not, I still haven’t figured out what the erase button does. But with the distortion it can get quite nasty, and the editing is destructive, and moving the buffer between effects produces interesting results. My current state is “intrigued.” I am still messing around with the Cosmos and have not really formed an opinion like “I will use this all the time” “this could sometimes be a special sauce” or “I should sell it.” By itself, it really wants to be Frippertronics. This is from an email to a friend, with the cursing edited out. So with the caveat that I may not know what I’m talking about and should not be trusted… One of the bad things about forums is people post reviews right after they get stuff, and then 6 months later their minds are totally changed. Ok, here’s more of a conditional review, with the caveat that I haven’t logged enough hours to have an informed opinion.
